Editorial Standards

Our Editorial Standards

Everything published on the Huds and Toke website is written by the team behind our Australian family pet treat bakery. We have been baking dog treats, horse treats and cat treats here in Australia since 2014, and our guides come from that first hand experience: what we bake, how we bake it, and what thousands of Australian pet owners tell us every year.

How we research our articles

When an article touches on pet health or safety, we do not rely on opinion. We check Australian authorities first, including the RSPCA and the Australian Veterinary Association, and we link to the sources we used inside the article. Where an overseas source is the best available, we say so. Statistics are verified against the original source before anything is published.

What we are, and what we are not

We are pet treat bakers, not veterinarians. Our articles are general information written to help you make good decisions for your pet, and they are never a substitute for professional advice. For anything concerning your own pet's health, diet or behaviour, please talk to your vet.

Products in our guides

Where our guides mention products, they are treats we bake ourselves in our own bakery. We only write about what we genuinely make and sell, and we keep buying guidance factual: sizes, ingredients and occasions rather than health promises.

Corrections

If you spot something that looks out of date or incorrect, we want to know. Contact us through the contact page and we will review it against the sources and fix anything that needs fixing.

You can read our guides in the Knowledge Centre and the Huds and Toke blog.
