Dog Treats

Why Use Dog Treats?

Pet treats are one of the best ways to have a fully interactive experience with your dog.

Dog food is more functional and one-sided — they eat it for health, nutrition, and survival.

Dog treats provide a platform to interact and create positive emotional bonds that benefit both you and your pet.

Treats can support gum and teeth health, boredom busting, training good behaviour, joint and coat health, giving medications, mental stimulation, and adding extra nutrients.

In essence, dog treats are an important part of a modern dog’s life — and a meaningful part of yours, too.

Why are your Dog Cookies so Colourful?

We use a specially formulated coating, made in-house, so products look amazing in photos.

It looks like a human bakery finish; however it is not made with sugar or fat.

We design treats to make you smile and feel proud to share moments with friends and family.

That’s why our products are super cute and photo-ready for selfies with your pet.

Are dog treats healthy for my dog?

Yes — when you choose high-quality treats, ideally made in Australia.

Treats are an important part of many dogs’ daily routine and can support both physical and mental wellbeing.

At Huds and Toke™, our dog treats are made with natural ingredients and no nasties.

They’re designed to support wellbeing while adding fun, flavour, and reward to your dog’s day.

How many dog treats can I give my dog each day?

It depends on the treat type and your goal (training vs. chewing time).

Australian-made products are generally preferable; always read the ingredient list and follow the manufacturer’s guidance.

As a rule of thumb, treats should be no more than ~10% of daily calories. Always provide fresh water.

Are Huds and Toke™ dog treats suitable for puppies?

Many are puppy-friendly. We offer soft or smaller options perfect for little mouths and learning moments. Check the label or ask our team for help choosing.

Can dog treats help with training?

Absolutely. Treats are fantastic for positive reinforcement.

Our low-mess, tasty treats are ideal for rewarding good behaviour quickly — indoors or outdoors.

You can use smaller crunchy rewards for rapid sessions, or larger “after-success” rewards for a longer chewing experience.

What ingredients should I look for in healthy dog treats?

Look for real, natural ingredients — e.g., oats, meat, and vegetables. Avoid artificial flavours, fillers, and excessive sugars.

Dogs are omnivores; a balanced diet includes fibre, protein, and nutrients from varied sources.

Are dog treats messy?

It depends on the treat. Our baked gourmet cookies use a proprietary no-melt, low-sugar/low-fat coating that won’t smudge carpets.

For pure meat chews, we recommend feeding outside, as natural oils can transfer during long chewing sessions.

Horse Treats

Why Use Horse Training Treats?

Treats help build trust and reinforce the bond between horse and rider/owner.

They can also assist with supplement delivery, hydration encouragement, joint/coat support, and mental stimulation.

Are horse treats safe for daily feeding?

Yes — in moderation. Our low-sugar options are great for daily bonding and rewarding good behaviour.

Can I use horse treats for training or bonding?

Definitely. Use them for float training, desensitising, pony club, or simple trust-building.

Are your horse treats suitable for laminitic horses or ponies?

Yes — we offer low-sugar, molasses-free options. Always consult your vet for individual needs.

Do Huds and Toke™ horse treats support hoof or coat health?

Yes. Many recipes include supportive ingredients (e.g., fibre sources, oils) for hooves, coat, and digestion.

Cat Treats

Why Use Cat Treats?

Cat treats can enhance health, behaviour, enrichment, and your bond.

They’re especially useful for indoor cats who benefit from extra stimulation and play.

Do cat treats help with training?

Yes. Use treats to reinforce using a scratching post, litter training, recall, or calm grooming.

How do cat treats help with mental stimulation?

Use puzzle toys or hide-and-seek games to provide mental/physical engagement — particularly helpful for indoor cats.

Are cat treats safe for kittens?

Yes — start small and supervise. Softer treats are ideal for bonding with young kittens.

What are the best treats for fussy cats?

Real ingredients like fish or chicken are highly palatable. We avoid artificial flavours — just real taste.

Do cat treats help with bonding?

Absolutely. Reward desired behaviours, encourage play, or hand-feed to build trust.

General Pet Treat Questions

What’s the difference between pet food and pet treats?

Food provides daily nutrition (mostly one-way). Treats create a two-way, interactive experience for training, enrichment, and bonding.

How are Huds and Toke™ treats made?

Proudly Australian-made in our Sunshine Coast facility, using locally sourced ingredients and species-appropriate recipes.

Why are Huds and Toke™ products better?

We design for the animal first. Our cookies are not shortbread-based (lower sugar, fat, and salt). We are Australian-made — not imported cookies repackaged locally.

Do your treats have a shelf life?

Yes. Check the best-before date. Store in a cool, dry place and reseal after opening.

Are your treats safe for pets with allergies?

We offer various options (including lower-allergen). Always check the ingredients and contact us for guidance.

Will your pet treats leave a stain or smudge if I feed indoors?

Our proprietary no-melt coating is low in sugar and fat and resists smudging — great for indoor training and gifting.

Is the colourful coating on your cookies high in sugar?

No. It looks like a human bakery finish but is developed specifically for pets — no added sugar or chocolate, and low fat.

Why choose Australian-made pet treats?

Better safety, higher quality, and local support. We’re proudly 100% Australian and care deeply about your experience and your animals’ health.
