Coconut in Dog Treats.... What are the benefits?

What are the benefits with Coconut in Dog Treats?

We at Huds and Toke believe it is a wonderful supplement which can have a lot of benefits.

Further to this, we are also brining out a Dental Chw which is specifically designed for your dogs dental health but also for their overall health.

This Dog Treat will have coconut added (along with a couple of other healthy ingredients) with zero artificial preservatives, no added sugar and GLUTEN FREE as well.

But more on that later.

But why Coconut?

Well, the benefits are many, and you can do a lot more with it than just feed it to your dog.

Think about this for a second?

  • You can feed it to your puppy.
  • Use it to rub through their coat.
  • Use Coconut as a soap to clean.
  • Rub the oil on parts of the body which need moisturising
  • You can pour coconut water into the bowl for a refreshing beverage…..for your dog….. but also for you…

When you really think about it, all the reasons it is good for the dog is also good for us as well!

What an amazing food source?

Dog Dental Chews

The varied benefits of consuming coconut, in any form, predominantly comes from one main trait of coconut oil.

This is the Medium Chain Triglycerides. Commonly referred to, or shortened for ease sake, MCT’s

MCT’s are made up of Fatty Acids. These Fatty Acids are referred to as Medium Chain Fatty Acids, or MCFA’s for short.

The Medium Chain Triglycerides are referred to as medium chain fatty acids. This basically refers to their molecular make up. Being shorter in nature makes it easier, and quicker, for them to be absorbed by the body.

One of the direct benefits of being processed, or metabolised, quickly by the body means that it does not get stored as fat.

The Medium Chain Fatty Acids are made up primarily of Lauric Acid, Capric Acid and Caprylic Acid.

The Antibacterial and antiviral properties comes from the Lauric Acid component; the antifungal properties come from the Capric and caprylic acid component within the MCT.

In essence, these MCT’s are responsible for providing powerful antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal agents which helps prevent infection and disease and aids in rehabilitation for unwell animals.

By having Cocounut in your dogs diet, and Dog Treats by Huds and Toke can help with this, you can help contribute to their health in the following ways.

  • Lauric acid is particularly good at fighting off viruses
  • Ringworm,
  • Giardia

2.Helps manage Inflammation.

3.Manages Weight.

  • Suppresses appetite.
